# Fabricable Rotary Bearings
This is mostly a tracking page. The work is couple with [mkencoder](https://gitlab.cba.mit.edu/jakeread/mkencoder) but it perhaps should not be.
Sam and I spent some time this afternoon chatting about slew roller bearings - I have been experimenting with designs by [Christoph Laimer](http://www.laimer.ch/)

The issue I am having with these slew bearings is that the rollers tend to want to track out of the race, which causes their edges to grind on the non-rotating side.
Here's a [really interesting link to an explanation of how crowned pulleys self-right](https://woodgears.ca/bandsaw/crowned_pulleys.html).
